Socks5 is essentially a system I built to solve a problem I had with Tor. This will only affect you temporarily as soon as your socks5 configuration has been saved but the information it revealing can still be used by nosy ISP’s to identify you. Rather than face the wrath of their fabulous staff, they simply block all Tor traffic until you reboot your computer. Let’s say that you’re using Tor to browse the internet and your ISP has discovered that you’re using socks5. But what does this have to do with socks? Everything! Socks5 is one such tool that allows you to proxy your network activity through the Tor network. You can use these services to hide your IP address from nosy nosy ISP’s and snoopers on the Internet. There are many proxy services available: I use socks5, although there are others out there like Tor and I2P. The proxy replies with a randomly generated identifier, which you can use to reveal your real IP address to the server provided you remain persistent and recent in your geographical location (via geolocation or WiFi). When you connect to a SOCKS5 server, your browser asks the proxy whether it knows about your IP address. It does so by masquerading as a trusted third party such as your ISP. Socks5 is an intelligent system that pushes an invisible button to create an invisible tunnel between you and your internet service provider. Also, when someone tries to access your server with the IP address provided in your configuration file, socks5 will transparently redirect them to another server, thereby breaking the tunnel between them and their intended destination. It allows anyone to upload files to your WordPress or Joomla blog without exposing any personal information about them. socks5 provides you with an easy way to hide your IP address and browsing activities.

What is sock? sock5, is a tool to upload any file to any server you like with the one click method. You will need technical skills to set up your own sock server and set up children’s accounts on it, as well as technical skills to keep them anonymous while using. The service should provide both reliable functionality and affordable pricing - ideally in the low single digits per month.

The point of such a service is to allow you to hide your real IP address while allowing your Internet service provider to see whatever data they want about your behavior on the Internet. (It’s Homer Simpson in ‘The Order of the Stone’, not me.) It’s also a line that makes perfect sense in the context of a sock proxyservice. Buy socks5 to hide my ass! Yes, that is a real line from a real book that really happened.
